That's usually the pitch we use on that combo but you're down on top rpm by quite a bit. Are you sure the motor is running right? How's the set up? Can the motor be raised any?

How should the foot line up to the bottom of the boat?

The horizantal fin even with the bottom of the boat? or ?

Thanks Teapot:rolleyes:

Teapot, your motor is wayyy too low, and Dhadley will get your setup right for you.

You may be able to go up a little with that prop but probably not much. Looks like the tip cup is pretty well worn. I might be inclined to try it up a little but if you were considering another prop I'd probably get the prop first.

so what would you recomend for size and pitch? i was thinking smaller diamter and higher pitch currently it has a 3 blade 14 1/2 X 19p. have read that a 4 blade has better mid range ecomony and bow lift.

input is welcomed

We've had good good success with the standard Stiletto or Turbo 3 blades on those boats without jackplates. With jackplates we use the Turbo 4 blade.

Had my buddy take the helm while i was looking at the foot the Horizantal fin is underwater when running by little over a inch i would say. Figure i will get a manual Jack Plate and try to dial in the corect engine hieght. Could that be the reason for the low WOT rpm still 5200 is all she has ideas?

At this point I might start looking at the motor itself. Raising the motor is going to / needs to happen but while you're establishing your baseline you need to make sure the motor is giving you 100%. Even if the motor is a little low there's a possibility it should be at more than the 5200. A healthy 3 liter open deck looper should turn a bit more than 5200 with a standard 19" prop on that boat even if it's low.

There may be other factors but now would be the time to confirm the motor is all it can / should be.

Raised the engine 2 bolt holes not quiet enough though 1 more should be it.
Engine WOT rpm unchanged considering a carb clean/rework fellas at alvin marine want 600 for the service . Went through the entire electrical system recently on this thread http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=368353 so carbs will be the next step right?

Thanks:D
