The engine leveler should definitely help. Or try 2 lifting mechanisms like an A-frame from outside the boat and an engine hoist from inside (if possible) and hook to opposite sides. Level it and use the hoist wheels to your advantage. Good luck

If your going to go through the trouble of unbolting the engine and moving it, you might as well get it to a point where you can actually work on! I like you thought about a rolling A frame on deck. I used a similar concept to go across my deck for aligning my engines and it worked really well. How much room do you have on deck around the engine hatch?
