And that is the way I believe it should be, but not to ask for private help with an issue there is a specific forum set up to address it.

Ayuh, like wow dude, some would say that is how I talk

Funny thing is mate, I pick up slang so quickly, and travel enough, that I don't know how I talk anymore. It's bloody hopeless

Mark...... they all have to start somewhere and yes it is frustrating when we (iboats member's) answer and they vanish. To answer that forst post is similar to lending a hand to a stranger .......... holding the door open.

It is interesting on how many do come back. We do have many good new member's.

Sorry for the sidebar but.....

Not so long ago, I was a 'zero' member. And why do I keep coming back? Straight goods. It's the Internet. Some advice isn't sound but the majority is and has help point me in the right direction or give me a sounding board to think through what's going on up top when I'm frustrated and need to step away from the situation and get some help.

Remember how much you paid....

And, as for Bond-o and TD, man....I would love to learn what they've forgot about boats. There are lots of guys on here that I'd take my boat to them in a second if they were close by. Many others too that have helped me along the way, too many to name. Heck Bob_VT, you helped me with a problem with my gas fireplace. So now when I help out a friend, etc with their boat and they ask me how I knew it, I always tell them iboats forums.

I'm smarter technically and wiser than I could've imagined as a new boater 4 summers ago as a result of this forums.

I grew up in a truck shop, literally from a month after I turned 18 until 35 . . . Never a wrench, but the scrawny puke from parts, sales and management. That's where I learned to color this $%^&*@! up, piece of %$^& language we call English :redface:

I don't mind the way the PMs are. I answer most technical PMs. In fact I have even given my phone number to a few people and talked them through their problems.

wondering what your problem is? Did you flunk vo-tech in high school or
what?

It always amazes me how people who are not mechanically minded
think we are some kind of supreme being who can magically erase
their inconvenience.
