QD-16 nova2 ignition Modules--will it work

I have a twin cyl 55 10hp qd-16 Johnson. I want to install two nova 2 modules. I am hoping they will perform as if it were two synchronized one cylinder motors. I have used these on trolling motors and the performance gain on a one cyl is impressive to say the least. I have read posts discounting the performance and overall benefits of electronic
Ignition over points which I find laughable at best. Any info would be appreciated.

Yeah it will work. I have seen a few motors done now with success.

The discounting comes in when the motor is at a low, low idle. That is where the magneto ignition is thought to be dominant, but the 2 aomci members that have tried the modules say that the motor ran fine at idle.

Thanks High Trim. BTW this motor was actually given to me for free a few days ago by the owner of the local Evinrude/Johnson shop. I plan on keeping the two line tank unless I run into trouble when the rest of the backordered parts arrive. I have a novel mounting idea for the mikuni pulse pump that circumvents the need for a few hoses, fittings etc. Needs paint and the standard stuff.

The QD has many mounting locations, unlike the smaller CD and AD. I have done Mikunis under the carb on the QD to get it out of the way. Also tried making different brackets and such around the motor, but I like to keep the length of the fuel line down to a minimum.

Well I am not so sure the nova modules will work, I understand the Atom modules do work. If you install these and have success will you please post back with a update & maybe some photos of the layout. best luck.

Thanks!, i Will post back and include good pics with my new Cannon Camera. My idea on the Mikuni is to circumvent the need for a non collapsible line, compression fittings etc., out the cover by putting an apparatus on the Mikuni that allows direct flush mount to the cover .

Ok, I have them hooked up and there is good spark.......? at first I installed using the intuitive approach. I will post pictures of this not so obvious failure that could have ruined the magneto etc due to binding. In the end the chips were steel epoxied in place and solder and shrink wrap was employed for the wire unions. The cam, spring, spring cover and woodruff key must remain on the 57 10 hp sportwin...I will explain why when I post picks. There is only one magnet on flywheel so it will work without question. Very very tight installation on this motor...barely possible To fit under flywheel

thats great, because the atom (banta saw) modules are a bit pricy. I have had a couple of junker motors come my way over the years with the atom chips mounted to the side of the engine block, outside of the flywheel instead of under it ? the reason I was unsure if they would work is because the atom chips come in different colors, green for single cylinder , red for twin point motors, purple for fixed magneto ? etc. I have a set of green, purple, & pink ones. I also very interested in your fuel pump set up. thanks for the update

ok i tried to upload pics in jpeg format and it says file too large. Have no idea on uploading the video--says accepts youtube vids etc--never did this before? Motor runs amazing! Holds super low idle, accelerates awesome, very little smoke

I downloaded it and played it. You should be proud, she runs well! You will have to wait until you are on the water to dial her down more.

Did you take any pictures of the module install? You mentioned that it was tight but I don't remember them being that big. Did you remove the condensers and points?

Points and condensers removed and put in a Mylar bag with an oxygen absorber
