Hello Everyone,
Looks like I also need a pinion gear as well, not just resealing the gear case.
The part number is 304569.
What is the best place to get a replacement in Ontario, Canada?
Here are some pictures:
The forward and reverse gears are perfect, not a nick on them.
The dogclutch and the mating parts on the gears are also in good condition.
I can guess what happened. The shear pin was slightly bent, I needed a punch to take it out.
They must have hit something (the motor is new to me), and instead of the shear pin giving way the pinion gear shattered.
Interestingly, the shear pin I had in is made of mild steel and not brass!
Is that the original material? If so, that is way oversized! The shear pin diameter is 3/16".
Thanks, Peter
