"Top Scientist" is whomever the media decides he/she is.

Most environmental scientists with credibility agree that the globe is warming and that is is being caused by increased greenhouse gasses. They may be right, but then again, they may be wrong. Other scientists say that it is caused by the destruction of most of the world's major forests (which consume CO2 and emit O2).

Their recommended solutions are mostly impractical or fantasies. Conclusion: There is no workable way to "correct" it. At best, it can be slowed, but only if the major contributors (which do not include the USA) go back to 19th century technology. GWB cannot do anything about that.

Example: I have read that Mexico City contributes more greenhouse gasses than the entire state of CA, and that China and India contribute more than the rest of the world combined.

So, what do you want GWB to do, invade China and India?

Cow farts are huge too. I am not kidding. Methane has a CO2 equivalent of 21. Which means that each fart is the equivalent of 21 CO2 farts . . . Or I guess this could mean that imagine there are 21 times as many cows in the world and all of their farts are CO2 . . . :D

Edit: LOL @ Pointer

Edit 2: Actually if I drive all of the way to put the gas in, that should help with the warming thing right? Good plan.

You go look for it yourself. It's out there, I know it's out there, and you know it's out there. "Top Scientist" is whomever the media decides he/she is.
Or, whomever the government decides he/she is.
That's one thing the media and government fails us all.
Just give us the stinking facts, without spin.
At best, it can be slowed, but only if the major contributors (which do not include the USA) go back to 19th century technology. GWB cannot do anything about that.
Or aggresively advance new technology. I agree that this leaves out the major contributors. The US and Europe are already ahead of the curve in doing our part. The developing nations are just coming up to polluting like we did in the '50's and '60's.

Commonsense illuminates the probability that global warming ranks far down the list of potential problems to worry about.

Al Gore would say anything that he feels would get attention.I'd wager he has little if any honest personal feelings on this subject other than a potential podium.

Gore is just another that many would say "knows more or better than us". The inference is no more correct when said about GW.

Gore does nothing more than take a place on the long list of those that see "We the people" play second fiddle to special interests/mega business and lobbyists.
http://www.freerepublic.com/forum/a3956e0fd2f31.htm

global warming

That's right Jimonica, they will believe what they want to believe no matter what evidence is provided
It's not like me to quote myself, but a certain faction will believe whatever fits into their "plan" regardless of of what is true, so...
Haut Medoc
Commander
Member # 44666

posted March 20, 2006 04:39 PM
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well then how about a pre-emptive strike with less than reliable information? Seems "W" may have pulled that a couple times before.....
Like Edgar Allan Poe's master sleuth, C.
