Re: Question about GW Bush and Global Warming

Pointer - I reread the post. Does not change my thoughts. There was never one mention of "todays rabid environmentalist fringe" in your post. You want to lump together all Environmentalists as "left wing whacko's" and, obviously, liars. Show me where these whacko's are lying. You state "It is my contention they have little or no concern for the environment just the influence they can peddle by leveraging a theory". WHAT!?!?!? Read that again, slowly, then sit back and think about what you wrote. Are you embarrassed? :( You should be! Environmentalists don't really care about the environment, they just want to see if the can influence people? Right, and once they get everyone to change their minds on the environment, they'll start on trying to get us all to put the TP roll on so the TP comes over the roll and not under(like it should be ;) ).

From there your post gets even more strange. Your not on the fringe, you fell off!!! :D

Not to repeat myself, but I have to question your sanity.

Try again, reread the thread and the links. But a closed mind is not all that unusual here in the DC.

I am sure the Spotted owl that needed privacy and couldn't live in concert with humans was honest. Funny when the pics of them living in the Kmart sign emerged. Was that a lie? Well they are not even on the endangered speicies list. Whacko, you make the call.

How about blowing up a ski resort? Is that whacko? How about blowing up research labs to save mice? Is that whacko? How about opposing AIDS research on animals, is that right or whacko?

How about PETA putting out cartoons directed at children showing mommy cutting the head off of a bunny rabbit? Whacko?

How about the fact that 25years ago they were screaming about global cooling? Whacko?

How about the infringement of private property rights in Hemet CA preventing a housing project to protect a fly that wasn't even indiginous to CA? Whacko?

How about the city of Davis CA spending millions of dollars to create an under freeway frog bridge (I80) that nobody even the media can prove save even one frog? Whacko?

Earth Liberation Front.... Whacko????

PETA claiming insects have feelings and rights? Whacko?

How about the fact that the city of Milwaukee Metropolitan sewerage district (I believe Mequon is also on the same system possibly) has dumped billions of gallons of untreated sewerage into lake michigan and yet not one fine levied? Whacko? Where is peta, elf, greenpeace?

How about the sign in California state parks that states dogs are inconsistant with nature? Whacko?

How about the predictions of the level of contaminiation of New Orleans that wasn't even close. The city was to be uninhabitable. Whacko?

How about CA mandating MBTE to lower automotive emissions with no proof of its validity but proof that it has contaminated a large portion of the ground water in the state? Whacko?

How about ethanol being added to our fuels when they reduce milage creating additional fuel consumption, what not providing even one ioda of evidence that it reduces emmissions? Whacko?

Tree spiking, maiming and killing loggers is that whacko?

ELF vandalizing and burning SUV's in California? Whacko?

How about burning down the headquarter of Superior Lumber Co in Eugene OR? Whacko?

Feeling shamed, confused? still don't understand? These are the people you support. Don't worry, there is time to re-evalute and modify your positions. The pool is large enough for all, come on in the water is fine. :)

___________________________________________________________________

I think this sums it up best:

Of all tyrannies a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. -C.S. "How about CA mandating MBTE to lower automotive emissions with no proof of its validity but proof that it has contaminated a large portion of the ground water in the state? Whacko?"

Thats a good one Pointer, I had forgoten about that. They knew it was a health hazzard but pushed it anyway. And once it became out in the open, they decided to phase it out instead of kill the program entirely. I think there was a lot of pocket greasing going on there. Someone made a ton of money at the expense of our health.

Re: Question about GW Bush and Global Warming

Just want you to know that I framed my first canceled check to ELF. I hung it on the wall next to my autographed picture of Al Gore. ;)

Do you really belive that all Evironmentalists are ELF and PETA members. That's typical of you Racist Reichwingers! :D

You can't say that humans haven't had a detrimental affect on the world. All of the pollutants that we spew into/onto the air, sea, and land. And because some people want to try to curb the destruction, you call them wacko's and try to associate them with ELF! You delude youself.

Re: Question about GW Bush and Global Warming

Buckle up we got a live one here. Must have neglected to strap on his foil helmet. It's been over a week since I have been called a racist here. :D

Where did that rant come from. There are lots of pollution, many of which I outlined, but you must have missed, but the global warming theory is one that has far too many holes in it for any reasonably thinking person to buy into in the form it has been presented to the American People. If that makes us racists.... eh,,, ok

Pointer - Don't you know sarcasm when you see it? Typical of you Racist Reichwingers not to know what sarcasm is.

I picked one of the many things from your above post and googled it. The first one I picked was: "How about the city of Davis CA spending millions of dollars to create an under freeway frog bridge (I80) that nobody even the media can prove save even one frog? Whacko?"

Guess what? It didn't cost "millions of dollars". It cost $14,000!! You Republicans really don't have a sense for money, do you? I guess that explains the National Debt. :p

I don't care if it cost 14 cents. You don't need to be spending my tax dollars on stupidity like that.

Re: Question about GW Bush and Global Warming

Well it seems my impression of Mequon has taken a step backwards. Most mature and considerate people don't even go near calling someone they don't know, or even someone they do know, a racist even in jest. And considering you have no clue of my background Reichwing is completely inappropriatate. Maybe that crap floats in the forums you have interjected yourself into in the past, but I don't have to listen to it.

I don't think I have anything more I can say to you today. BTW nice non-apology, your a real class act.

Re: Question about GW Bush and Global Warming

Another typical post by a Racist Reichwinger. You can call me and other liberals "wacko's" and other names(remember, I said that I've been browsing this site for a few days), but when I try to point out that your lumping all Environmentalists into one Wacko-ELF-PETA group is wrong by lumping all Conservatives into the Racist Reichwingers, you go and get your undies in a bunch. :p

I think you feign indignation so you don't have to respond about your accounting issues. :D

But if you want to reply about the "millions of dollars" for frogs, maybe you can also explain to me this part of your post:
"How about the infringement of private property rights in Hemet CA preventing a housing project to protect a fly that wasn't even indiginous to CA?" I think you're talking about the Delhi Sands fly. The devlopement that was going to go in was going to destroy it's "only known breeding grounds". Oh, but wait, how can that be if the fly wasn't indiginous the CA? Maybe, because it IS!! The area is called Delhi Sands and the fly is called the same. Hmmmmm.

Thats the 2nd thing I googled from your post. I think for your sake I'll stop while I'm ahead. :p :D :p :D

Re: Question about GW Bush and Global Warming

Just wantin' to say hey to gafteci. Welcome aboard!! Kinda like fresh meat. It's also great that JK (our snooty, French wine drinkin', I/O tweakin', pseudo elitist liberal, buddy just the same) and jimonica have a new friend . . . :p I'd add PW2, but actually he hasn't been too wacko lately, and he really doesn't need the help anyway. If I left out any prominent liberals, I am truly sorry. Treedancer is waaaaay too pragmatic for this gang ;) Edit: I meant Skinnywater not treedancer, see below . . . Ooops

Interesting that I have attracted gafteci's scorn from this thread  as I have actually posted in support of many supposed Global Warming Reversing Measures (GWRMs) Like it? My very own acronym :D I guess it's just that I don't support them out of some ludicrous belief that we can make a dent in the so called green house effect. I support some of those things because they just make sense on their own merit i.e. more efficient stuff . . . Sorry all for bringing farts into this incredibly enlightening and overwhelmingly serious thread

I have now attracted additional scorn from jimonica because I won't rant at Pointer for illuminating the potential horror of worshiping environmental over human priorities. Shame on you Pointer. Oh, the sweet smell of redemption

I proudly stand by my months ago rant.

Carry on . . . :p :D

Re: Question about GW Bush and Global Warming

I think that I will back out of this thread before I say something that I will regret, or will come back and bite me at a later date. I will add this, and I think I can say it with confidence, seeing that everybody has an interest in boating, that not one person on this forum, and I might add I-boats, likes pollution or a dirty environment.

LET THIS THREAD DIE

Re: Question about GW Bush and Global Warming

Thanks Haut Medoc!! Boy, thoses links fit Pointer and his crowd to a tee!! ;) I tried to find one that described JK, Jimonica, and myself, but it was taking too long, so instead I did an exhaustive :D search on the web and this is what I found:
Liberal

LIB'ER-AL, a. [Fr., from L. liberalis, from liber, free. see Libel.]
1. Of a FREE heart; FREE to give or bestow; not close or contracted; munificent; bountiful; generous; giving largely; as, a liberal doner; the liberal founders of a college or hospital. It expresses less than Profuse or Extravagant. 2. Generous; ample; large; as, a liberal donation; a liberal allowance. 3. Not selfish, narrow, or contracted; catholic; enlarged; embracing other interests than one's own; as, liberal sentiments or views; a liberal mind; liberal policy. 4. General; extensive; embracing literature and the sciences generally; as, a liberal education. This phrase is often, but not necessarily, synonymous with COLLEGIATE; as, a collegiate education. 5. FREE; open; candid; as, a liberal communication of thoughts. 6. Large; profuse;... 7. FREE; not literal or strict; as, a liberal construction of law. 8. Not mean; not low in birth or mind. 9. Licentious; FREE to excess. Shak. Liberal arts, as distinguished from mechanical arts, are such as depend more on the exertion of the mind than on the labor of the hands, and regard amusement, curiosity, or intellectual improvement, rather than the necessity of subsistence, or manual skill. Such are grammar, rhetoric, painting, sculpture, architecture, music, &c. Liberal has of before the thing bestowed, and to before the person or object on which any thing is bestowed; as, to be liberal of praise or censure; liberal to the poor.

LIB'ER-AL, n. One who advocates greater freedom from restraint, especially in political institutions.

O.K, I through with this thread. treedancer is correct. And, I'm sure I'll have plenty more opportunities to show, how as James Carville puts it, I'm Right and You're Wrong.
:D :p :D :p
