Ive have a problem with water in the bilge of my boat for some time now. After a few hours on the water I will have at least 5 gal of water in the hull. I looked all around the hull for any holes or cracks and never found any until last night. I took the boat out yesterday and found I needed to replace a bunk once the boat was off. Once the boat was back on the trailer I went under it to check the bunk. I noticed a small crack with water seeping out of it. The crack is about the size of a dime and appears to be made by running up on something. My plan is to sand down the area a few inches around the crack and apply some fiberglass to seal it up.

I have a lot of polyester resin and mat left from a previous project that I want to use for this project. Would it be ok to use the poly resin to fix this problem?

-Charles
