I'm looking at some older boats in the 70's to pick one up fairly cheap that might need some repair work done to it and I'd like to hear some rough estimates on cost so I can put that into the overall cost of the project.
16-18 ft. boat with outboard and a closed bow design.
Questions:
1. If the stringers need to be replaced and all the foam what's a rough ballpark of cost for that less labor since I would be doing it myself? (let's just say that there's 4 stringers)
2. If the floor needs to be replace along with the stringers how much are we talking for cost (less labor)?
3. If the transom also needs to be replace (less labor)?
Just trying to get a feel for just how much additional bottomline cost that I would have to come up with other than things I can look up online (seats, vinyl, carpet, etc..) I've done some fiberglassing ages ago but not enough to know cost for such a big job to replace the above items. Figured some of you restorers could give me a standard ballpark figure within a few 100.00's or so.
I hope I've provided you with enough info, just let me know if there's something I'm leaving out that might help to get a figure.
Thanks for the help in advance.
