Re: Question regarding pressurized tank?
IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't wait til tomorrow to put the new gas tank on so I went out this evening. Took off the old one line connector, put on a new one that came with the tank and added the air line back on. Hooked up the battery, pushed the tank primer down several times, said a prayer then pressed the button and it roared to life!!!!!
I was very happy but you probably couldn't see me through all the whitish-blue smoke! LOL. Also there's a bit of an oil slick on the water surface after I shut it off...might need to rename the boat The Exxon Valdez. Is this normal? I know with the 2 cycle Lawn Boy mower I use there is always alot of blue/white smoke from the oil burning along with the fuel but it usually gets better as I run it. What should I expect from this motor...will it always blow smoke out like that (it's coming from down low, where the motor "pees" out the water). On the bright side, there were no mosquitoes for a mile radius after I ran it! A couple more questions regarding the pres. tank: do I need to open the cap to vent off that pressure after I turn the motor off? How do I know when I've pumped the primer button enough when I go to start it and do I have to do that each time or will it hold the pressure if I haven't opened the cap?
I don't have a smart phone that takes video but my son does and I'm going to see if I can get him to take a video of it running tomorrow so I can post it on YouTube and then paste the link here. I know it helps to be able to see and hear it running to know what's normal and what isn't. Again, I thank all of you for your advice and patience with a newbie like me...could NOT have gotten this far without you!
