I installed carb. kits on my 1971 Johnson 50hp outboard. The kit came with a little metal hook to attach the needle to the float. When I took the carbs. apart, they did not have the clips, so I put it back together without the clips. I won't be firing it up till the spring - so should I leave it as is, or pull the carbs off again & install those clips?
