Alright, quick question, does the gas i use for my 175 hp 1985 mariner matter. Should i use unleaded reguler, or use premium gas?? If it does, would it have an effect on the boat performance? Any advice is much appreciated.

Regular unleaded is recommended. You will see no advantage using premium and your wallet won't like it either..

Invest in some Startron 2 strokes are more at risk for damage than 4 strokes if you are in an area of the country where most are by now we are now using the E-10 Ethanol fuels which my understanding is the gas drivers drop the gas into the tank at the Station they then add the up to 10% E-10 ethanol
guess what if is bad at math......and up to 50% have been tested in some Stations.
As of right now Startron 8oz. treats 128 U.S. gals is the only enzyme Defense against Fuel water ethanol Phase separation.> www.startron.com

outside of this 87-89 should be good if you have MTBE Fuel run it out before you add the new fuel Do not mix the two.

Good luck!

Re: quick gas question???

The book I got with my 88 XR4 (V6 150 at least) said 87 or 88 would run, but 90 - 92 would be better.

Around here, the 92 octane (off road) gasoline has no ethanol in it. That's what I run.

Timed and tuned to the knat's $$$. It's fun to have the teenagers tell me to slow down.

My advice would be save your money, you would never see a difference.

Unless you have a high perfomance rebuilt tuned up motor its just a waist of money.

Alot of people say high test is good for less wear and tear, but it's the oposite.
