Hi I have a Mariner 75hp two stroke which is controlled by a commander 2000 control box.
I have recently had to dismantle this to replace the trim switch.
When reassembling the box I have noticed that although it all seems to fit together when the lever is lifted the cable it is attached to doesnt actually move until the lever is lifted almost vertically.
My engine has always been a pig to start when cold and so as an experiment I pulled the cable manually a little and started the engine - started easily first time. This leads me to believe that the cable is ill adjusted.
Can anyone let me know how the fast idle works (is it like a choke on a car?) and if it is possible to adjust

many thanks Gavin
