Anyone use this to maintain their boat and stainless steel hardware? The marine solutions seem real expensive. This seems cheaper, but is it safe for the boat's finish?

..I use it on the inside of my glass shower door. Works good there for keeping it cleaner longer.. ;)

Try another product called "Plexus" (if available) I have found it better than Rainx. For your stainless "autosol" Its a metal polish. it will also bring up any alloy you have as well

Russ

Re: RAINX on a fiberglass boat

I have found that rainx works well but not for very long, and that is when it only rains once in a while.
Seems to me that if the boat sits in the water or when you drive it, the friction from the water would wear it off rather quickly.
Why not just wax it? Aurora makes a great bottom wax. I put it on in the spring and do not bother to buff it below the water line. I think it stays on longer that way, but I could be wrong :)
