Well I had one of those days today
broke down 45 miles (yes 45 miles by boat!) away from my truck/trailer. I was able to limp my boat 18 miles to a ramp against a good 15 mph wind. Well, I was able to phone a friend and get a ride to my truck (over 65 miles by car) and go back to retrieve my boat. Now the fun part....

I was with a lady friend who stayed with the boat while I was retrieving the truck. My "road trip" left this wonderful woman to babysit my sick boat and just enjoy the weather. Upon my return she felt as if she had seen all the ramp stunts written about here.....forgetting to raise the outdrive, lots and lots of screaming at drivers, children who were too bored hours before they got to the ramp and of course the old stand by creative backing!

Needless to say she had more fun being stuck at a ramp (which made her day complete) with the ability to watch the trickery.

Her comments were very uplifting to me. I was told I never yelled or screamed like she witnessed and I was capable of backing a trailer up.

So, all you wanna be newbie boaters be careful, that quiet woman is watching, learning and comparing!

Bob
