You should see the Susquehanna in Harrisburg right now. Looks like a logging operation.

Water is high ... almost made it to the crows nest at 7 Points ... couple of the launch ramps under water. Might be back down for the weekend ...

Just got back from the lake. It is almost back to normal. But there are a lot of floaters.

Re: Raystown

Memories (used to be Clem's at 7 Points) will be open Memorial Day weekend. Woody's Bar and Grill, a new BBQ pit is opening in Huntingdon in a week or two, the Fairfield by Marriott will be open across from Walmart in less than a month. The Cafe' at the Raystown Resort Marina is now open.

Thought I was gonna get some boating in this week ... wife is tending to her sister in Denver who is undergoing surgery today. Wouldn't you know it, rain, rain, rain ... possibly 3 inches today ... with it getting nice this weekend, but busy over the weekend. GRRRRRR!

Woody's BBQ is officially opened, rain is clearing out today and it is shaping up to be a beautiful weekend at Lake Raystown. I might even get out on the Lake Saturday afternoon! Keeping fingers crossed! Hoping to chatch one of those Cabelas tagged fish that were stocked there ...

Yep, made it on the water ... surface temp upper 60's - 70 even. Not much in the way of floaters, only slightly stained water. Caught a few fish, got a little sun, daughter had fun learning the ins and outs of handling the boat. Let the season begin!

Good for you!!! Sounds like you had a great day on the water.

What sorts and sizes of fish did you get??

If all goes well, I'm hoping to splash the 4 Winns out there next Sunday with a buddy of mine who just picked up his first boat.

Youngest (9 and only one still in the nest) wanted to catch a bass, but didn't have the patients for that today ... switched over to rockbass and perch ... caught a couple of pounder rockies, some bluegill, and a decent perch. Dad basically just watched ... just enjoying the relaxation of the water. Wife has been away all week taking care of her sister who had surgery and returns early tomorrow morning.

The wife,a buddy and the 2 dogs will be grilling some where in the lake this weekend..Should be plenty of sunshine with thunder bangers toward late day....My buddy has never seen the entire lake so I feel a long ride will happen.

Not looking like it's going to happen this weekend.

My buddy isn't real confident in his tow vehicle without doing some work on it (there's some pretty vigorous terrain between here and Huntingdon).

Looks like we will be heading to the Allegheny River this weekend. It's a whole lot closer.

I surely do do appreciate the invite to your hospitality. Hopefully you'll be on the lake when I do get out there.

Would be nice to set up a day that suited a bunch of the forums members and have a formal (yet unsophisticated) get-together.

Re: Raystown

I am heading to Raystown lake tommorow with the Manatee. It will be the first splash for her this season. Been working 5 days to get the trailer ready for the trip. Nothing ez about an ez loader when it needs new arms. But she is loaded up with camping gear and we will be heading out in the morning. We will be tent camping through the weekend so I hope the weather holds. If you see a bright red boat on the lake that would be my 1976 manatee. I hope to explore the lake. If there are any details I should know about ahead of time please send me a note. Hope to meet some of you up there this weekend. Boy do I need a long weekend from work! Anyone want to share some good fishing spots via GPS? send me a Location I would be most apprecated. My sister loves to fish.

Re: Raystown

Hey Damifudo, if you are camping via tent, you may want to do the boat to shore at Nancy's Camp (about mile marker 15) ... might be the best bet for you to get a campsite over this weekend.

What kind of fish are you looking for, and how do you like to fish? That will help in giving you some hints on where to go ...

I will not be close the lake this weekend ... but next week, hopefully!

Re: Raystown

Besides all the traffic it was a Great weekend on the lake, water temps were near 78f and the weather was perfect. The lower end of lake was very muddy and had lots of floaters, then really cleared up past raystown resort and up to damn. The hail and wind friday night was pretty extreme. We have several holes in the roof and couple vents blown off our rv.Hopeful but doubtful to get on the water this coming weekend, will be putting new roof on...At least there only calling for temps in lower 80's and not mid 90's with 99% humidity.

Re: Raystown

Anyone gonna be on the water from the 13th - 17th???? Might try to get out a day or two next week ... I need to get some sun!

BTW, I know of one of the Cabelas tagged fish that was caught last week ... a largemouth bass. Guess they planted several bass and walleye with tags, at least that was what I was told. Did not hear how much the caught largemouth was worth yet ... details as I hear them ...
