Re: Raystown

Anyone gonna be on the water from the 13th - 17th???? Might try to get out a day or two next week ... I need to get some sun!

BTW, I know of one of the Cabelas tagged fish that was caught last week ... a largemouth bass. Guess they planted several bass and walleye with tags, at least that was what I was told. Did not hear how much the caught largemouth was worth yet ... details as I hear them ...

Not here.

But I hope to get wet a couple times between the 18th and the 4th. Maybe some weekdays.

I'm tentatively planning to come out with a fellow forum member on Sun June 26th and camping at Nancy's till Monday. Want to explore the lake on a dead weekday.

Re: Raystown

Hey EZ ... maybe see you on the 27th ...

Mike didn't say, and it wasn't asked, where he caught it, but he was the 48th to report a tagged fish in PA, so the most he can win is $10,000 ... and that would be if no one reports any more fish and he is the closest to #50. All a numbers game. But hey, he will get something, and has a chance at 10K! Not bad for a day of fishing/fun!

Re: Raystown

Might put the boat in for the fireworks ... depends on the fireworks schedule ... I get to run fire prevention for a fireworks display so if the lake fireworks are the same night, won't be at the lake ...

Re: Raystown

Myself and another forum member will be. We were originally planning on coming out sometime Sunday, setting up camp and boating a bit, then doing more boating Monday. However I called to make a reservation and the campground had a 2 night minimum so now we're coming out Saturday evening and will boat all day Sunday and Monday.

Re: Raystown

Maybe see ya on the water.

The kids want to do a bunch of tubing. We'll probably stay mostly between Snyder's Run and Seven Points to avoid some traffic.

Not sure, but I may run out to Trough Creek at first light some morning to try for some 'eyes before the lake gets whooped up.

Cobia, although it would be a bit of a haul for you and probably not much closer than Raystown.....you should really check out Conowingo sometime.

Re: Raystown

I won't be available Friday - Monday (unless I muster up enough energy to go to the lake Monday evening ... when are ya pulling out?) ... ended up being a CRAZY week and weekend. By the time Monday afternoon roles around I will have put approx 2000 miles on the vehicle and only missed one night in my own bed!

Re: Raystown

My uncle has a cottage there so I've been there many many weekends since I was little. The better public ramp is here http://maps.google.com/maps?q=39.76...68549&sspn=0.033052,0.107288&num=1&gl=us&z=14 next to the nuke plant. It's a nice wide ramp but it is steep. It's all wide and open from there all the way down to the dam. On that map you can see a little bit upriver where Muddy Creek comes in. You don't want to go further up than that as a first timer. There's a large sand bar down stream from that island you can see right across from the ramp where a lot of people hang out. There isn't much "to do" other than boating. It's not like Raystown with much in the way of marinas and stuff. There isn't a lot of access to it which is why despite being a fantastic open 20 mile long stretch of water, it's generally dead down there. Even on holidays like Memorial Day and the 4th it's pretty dead. My friend who normally boats on Clarke was blown away by how few boats were there on a beautiful Memorial Day last year.
