I'm in the middle of a transom replacement. Obviously I'm going to need to re-mount the outboard at some point. I bought the boat as a project so havn't run it myself yet.

The engine was originally mounted with the ACP 1 inch above the bottom of the boat, but also the whole engine was mounted 1 inch offset to the starboard.

I have replaced the outboard cutout, so that it can be lowered by 1 inch so the ACP can be level with the bottom of the boat.

My main question is, should I re-mount the engine with the 1" offset. I'm guessing the offset is to counteract torque?
