Having no life, I sit around and watch movies all day.
Problem is I'm running out of movies to watch.

I just got done with 'Dog Day Afternoon'
After seeing that, I don't know why anyone went to the movies in the 70.
I was pretty bored the whole way through it.

Then, Munich. Pretty good movie.

Anybody know some good ones?

'Downfall' It's a German movie about the final days of the third reich. Excellent. You have to be ok with subtitles, though, as it was filmed in German.

Not a problem!

When I ran out movies I wanted to see, I went to foreign films, I have seen Run Lola Run, The Lives of Others and Lust, Caution.

All pretty good.

Jeremiah Johnson - my dad's all time fav flick, he used to call me on the phone if he found it on and we would watch it while talking on the phone. If I were at his house, we sat and watched it as well. I must have seen that one hundreds of times, but it is still an awesome flick..if for no other reason than the memories of Dad.

You probably already seen it but Avatar in an IMAX theater is absolutely amazing.

If you are into WWII movies one of my all time favorites is "Das Boot" or "The Boat" if you get the English dubbed version. It is about German submariners towards the end of the war.

I have watched both copies and actually preferred the sub-titled version. I do not read or understand German except for a few words I have picked up over the years from my Amish neighbors.

IMHO for old favorites, you can't beat "The Great Waldo Pepper".

I was pretty surprised by that, I thought it was going to be dumb, but it was pretty damn funny

I don't wanna go too old on movies. maybe like 90's +

Re: Recommend any good movies?

I am too much of a purist on special effects and love the older movies...... w/o the computer generated effects. The early 90's was okay but that was the start of many going straight to video and the beginning of the movie theater downfall.

I love movie continuity errors myself.....and look for them in movies. Look up Zulu and then watch the movie ;) Zulu warriors wearing wrist watches :D

IMDB.com has lists of the errors in most movies.

"The African Queen" w Bogart and Hepburn is A great timeless movie and its got a boat in it!!how good is that?a completey different futuristic political fantasy movie is "V for vendeta".I love it, kinda spooky,I see some similarities w current state of the world.if youve not seen it you will watch it again and again as its really complex and thought provoking.I also like any of the spagetti westerns w Clint Eastwood, turn up the volume when the music plays it is fantastic!hangem high, the good the bad and the ugly,a fistfull of dollars, pale rider, etc.

OK, Ladyfish, based on that clip I'm addng Wild Hogs to my Netfix queue.

Some that I have liked:

O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Wag the Dog
Ronin
The Princess Bride
Shooter
The Last Samurai
Flawless
Burn After Reading (rolled on the floor laughing)
Get Shorty

Well, enough for now. Maybe there is something there you haven't seen. These were among movies I found worth watching at least twice.

If you want some mindless fun and don't mind a little language, Super Troopers is flat out the funniest movie I every saw when I saw it for the first time.

Great movie. Me and my friends quote it all the time.
My favorite line was
"ohh, BIKER! Im an idiot"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRnxEZJCey4

I dont think it comes close to Club Dread though
Everyone I know who was seen it says its dumb, but they go in expecting it to be a good horror flick. It a dumb movie, but if you pay attention, you'll laugh the whole way through.

Similar to the Mel Brooks movies

O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Wag the Dog
Ronin
The Princess Bride
Shooter
The Last Samurai
Flawless
Burn After Reading (rolled on the floor laughing)
Get Shorty

Seen them all, many times. Good stuff. (didn't care much for burn after reading though)
