Re: Recommend any good movies?

BigB...first, you have to get out more...ok?
Anywhooo, if you are in...try 'Cool Hand Luke'. Older flick with Paul Newman but a great one.
Don't underestimate older films. They are shot in a lot longer scenes which is very hard for modern 'watchers' and the younger generation to get into. Hang in there tho', a lot of these films are worth it.
Now, for Comedy or Satire try "Dr Strangelove" with Peter Sellers...easily one of the very best cold war satires, if not the best, ever made. Very, very, very funny. George C Scott really has a comic ability.
My two bits.

With Home Theater set as loud as you can stand it the movie "U-571" is action packed from begining to end. When you hear the words "Das A Bomb!" hold on to something....:D

For a great Eastwood movie, get Grand Turino.

One of my favorite Eastwood films is "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil"

I even bought and read the book, but it was of the rare times when the movie was far better than the book.

Also, Million Dollar Baby was a good movie

It's a bit difficult to pick one movie as an all time favourite, the one that stands out most for me is Lawrence of Arabia.

The Apartment is another one, simply for the genius of Jack Lemon.

Does anyone remember seeing Chinatown ?

A real old one is, "Paciffic Heights."

Based on a true story. A must see if thinking about buying a rental home. If you live in a tenant lenient state like Mass. this would discourge you from buying rental property.

I just watched 2 good movies recently. The Three Godfathers with John Wayne and Mr. Hobbs Takes a Vacation with Jimmy Stewart. I have seen both several times but both are great movies.

Re: Recommend any good movies?

Well,
I normally like the old ones.
Any Gary Cooper movie, John Wayne movie, most Gregory Peck movies, most Errol Flynn movies, Clint Eastwood movies, Mel Gibson movies.
I've also developed a taste for movies with Grace Kelly. She's one of the most photogenic people I've ever seen.
Another actor who makes darned near any movie good is Spencer Tracy.
I like Liam Neeson movies as well. "Rob Roy" was pretty good.
Tom Hanks is not too bad.
Movies with Diane Lane are usually pretty decent.

"There's Something about Mary"---Ben Stiller usually makes me laugh pretty hard. I know a guy that looks just like Woogie.

"Forbidden Planet" was good for an old sci-fi film. I like Walter Pidgeon's voice a lot. He's a good actor.
"Dune" was a pretty dopey but good sci-fi flick.
"Bonnie and Clyde" with Faye Dunaway.
I liked a lot of the old Tarzan movies as a kid. Haven't seen any of 'em in years.
The original "Where the red fern Grows" movie was good.
Hoosiers, The Natural, Rudy....for sports movies.

"Oh Brother Where art thou" was entertaining.

Temple Grandin was pretty good as far as new movies go.

The Departed

An amazing allstar cast that came together for a great cat and mouse game between a mafia plant in the police department and a plant by them inside the mafia.

I also enjoyed Gangs of New York a lot although most people I talk to I seem to be in the minority. Most of my friends seem to think it was too dry.
