I have a 1991 Hydra Sports 2000 CC and had to get towed in this past weekend after some fuel-related problems about 30 miles offshore. I am replacing the fuel system from the tank to the engine as a preventative maintenance spawned by a bigger problem. I cannot prime the engine. I disconnected the fuel line at the tank and can feel and hear air moving through the line when priming. So I think that my problem is inside the tank.
I have found very little information on replaceing fuel-pickups or purchasing replacement parts. I am considering buying parts and pieces at the hardware and automotive stores and building them myself. they dont look too complicated. I have 3/8" fuel line that feeds a 97 Johnson 175 with an inline fuel/water separator. I am considering using top-end 3/8" fuel injector hosing as the fuel-pickups inside the tank. Cut them to a length of approx 1" off the bottom of the 80 gal tank. Secure with hose clamps. Thanks in advance for any and all help and ideas. Mike
