Replacing Bravo I with Bravo III....

I have a Merc 5.0 260 HP with Bravo I outdrive and I was wondering if I could just replace the lower unit with a Bravo III unit of do I have to replace the entire outdrive?

I think the lower units are interchangeable on Bravo uppers.

howdy,

Yes you can change to a Bravo III lower.....You will get better hole shot low speed/REV performance and may be a few knots slower top speed (once you get it propped correctly)

I wouldn't trade my lower for a Bravo I
