Replacing Carpet!!! -- Advice???
DON"T-Carpet is horrible. It holds dirt, it holds water, it holds sand, it holds seaweed, it wears horribly. Personally, I'd choose another material.
erm..like what Boomers ? suggestions would greatly help.
heres what I do..
take your carpet out..in each peice that it came out of.. ( lets say you have 3 pieces on your floor and sides combined..no matter..get it out in solid pieces.. ) Mark your carpet on were it goes on the floor and sides for locators.. with tape or marker..
lay it out on new carpet..cut 1/2 " beyond your old carpet line just incase your old stuff didnt fit that well..( put your markings on the New carpet with tape and marker showing where to locate the new stuff )
Dry Fit your carpet ! ( everything is cool..then go for it..or trim as needed..then go for it )
Find your centerline on carpet..and work one side at a time..( i suggest you tack the middle first on long carpet runs.. then go one side..then the other )
Use contact cement.. ( WHERE A RESPORATOR !! ) .. Ive done some Major FG work inside..but this contact cement is Very to your brain looopy..It will put you in a bilge passed out in no time !! as a matter of fact..have someone there when you do it just in case.. ( Im very safty if you cant tell

)
Plan..layout..plan again..layout..sure everything is gonna go..then do it..you be fine m8..
YD.
