Re: Restoring the LOST PERL 103'

All I can say is "WOW". what's next the USS Lexington or the USS Yorktown? LOL
Great looking work and tons of it. I will keep watching your progress too.
This isn't a project it's a career. My hats off to you sir. I have spent three years working on my little boat, I don't think I would live long enough to finish this thing, but I would love to try.
Capt. Mike, I only live a couple hours North of you, if you ever need some help. I have a couple additional router tables that could help you also. I also have some woodworking skills that might be helpful if you need them. looking forward to seeing your progress.
Good luck
Bob

Your kitchen is quite a bit larger than the one in my house!

I was kidding about taking on another one anytime soon. When mine is done I might do one for someone else.

OK, The navy ship where can I get one?:D lol
I could hide it in the back and she might not notice. She is always telling me she doesn't remember seeing a new tool in my shop.:p
All jokes aside, nice work and great project.

Can't wait to see more.

After seeing Jay's great job he did with his boat and videos I will try to do some videos. I can use my imovie or final cut. I have both but I have not used ether in years. I wish I had done them from the start.

Re: Restoring the LOST PERL 103'

Yesterday Deb took the day work off so we went to get some 300bf of cherry and then we went and got 250 sq. feet of #2 common red oak flooring. I started the hardwood floors in the galley yesterday and finished them today. I wrapped the island around the floor with walnut and maple hardwood to highlight the island. This will give a 3d look once it is stained and polyurethane

Great looking wood work. That's going to be one smokin' boat when she's done.

Re: Restoring the LOST PERL 103'

I thought I would post a photo of the room after cleaned out. You can always see more up to date on at the lost pearl link. There is so much more going on right now while the weather is good. Bill is on the decks removing the decks and repairing the plywood then fiberglass the plywood and reinstall the teak. Tim on the top going around edges with bondo and then fiberglass. I try to get a bit of time on the galley here and there and still helping them. This is a good when I can give each one of them something to do, I normally do the work and they get me things to work with and clean up.

Re: Restoring the LOST PERL 103'

Many things have changed on the lines of my boat. I was sitting around and thought I would draw a how I wanted the out side lines were to end up. I got a new 55-200 leans for my nikon d40, so I could do better photos of the lines from across the river. I traced one of my photos first then I added what I wanted her to look like.
I was trying to decide if I wanted a arch or a tree/mast, I kinda leaning toward the arch with a small mast on top of it. What do you think Do you think this will work or do I need to change something I don't want to end up on that fugly boat page with 103 foot boat.
