And if that hasn't discouraged you, I will give you a VRO pump with this bridge I am selling.

Don't Do It...Period. You would be trusting your engine to a piece of plastic that is trapped inside the cover with the hot motor. Sound smart?

The variable oiling is just one step towards making a cleaner running old engine.

I don't have delusions of making an old motor a current era 2 stroke, but I think a few steps can be done to update the operation of an old 65hp Johnson.

depends, if you spend more time at low speeds/idle, it will use less oil, but if you run at higher rpm it will use the same.

on the average about 60:1 is the mix rate. at idle pre 90 used 150:1, from 90-92 it went to 100:1 at idle. after 93 it was oms.

just another thought though..ur '72..it was engineered for 50:1 all the time. leave it alone.
