i was riding across the lake and my boat just slowed and died. After a little diagnosing I figured out the fuel pump cut off. I switched the relays on top of the motor and checked the fueses, but still no fuel pump. I had someone tow me home and figured out i can power the pump externally and the motor runs fine. There is no power going to the pump through the harness. Is there a sensor or switch that could cause this or another fuse other than the 3 on top of the motor that can cause this? I plan to mess with it this afternoon, but was just wondering if there was a known problem i should check first. Thanks for any help or insite.

Do you have an engine serial number handy, the number you have is for your Bravo drive.

Does the fuel pump run for 2 seconds when you turn the key to the run position?

I don't know what you have, that serial number ow336378 goes to a carbed engine, not an MPI, the first number you gave, W466378 was for a Bravo drive, and the last last one for an Alpha.

Is this an MPI engine or a carbed engine, Alpha or Bravo drive ??

I was trying to find the correct wiring diagram, but it's not going to happen with out a serial number of what you actually have.

the serial number is OW366378...i just went home and looked at it. When I put that in Mercruy parts express it comes up with the right motor.

Ok, I guess the Merc dealer program (not the online one) has another problem

Try this.
On the back of your alternator there is a connector with 2 wires, one purple one pink. Is it plugged in tight? Wiggle it and see if the pumps will run for 2 seconds. If not, Disconnect from the alternator, and Carefully jumper the 2 (don't spread or damage those small terminals) and see if the pump runs for 2 seconds when the switch is turned to the run position.

thnks for the input. I figured it out. The fuel pump wire had power out of the relay, but not at the plug. I stabbed the wire back a liitle behind the plug and it had power. Took my tool and removed wire from the plug and reinserted it and it works fine. All i can figure is somehow the wire worked it's way loose in the plug. Or maybe something hit it and pulled on it accidentally. Either way it works and i appreciate the help.
