Thats a deal. I will be watching the weather window. When I see three good days I am on the move. I hope to get at least two of those windows each month. That may be wishful thinking for the OBX in March and April.

HH

I trailer my Sailfish. When the weather calms down and I can make more frequent trips, I may store it there for short periods. Sometimes I will go out of OI and HI. Later in the season I may run from MHC.

Don't feel alone about the sea-sickness. I never cross an inlet without scopace.

HH

It's always nice when Rodbolt replies to one of your own posts. He usually gives a bit more technical info on the problem, which I enjoy, digest, drink a beer and then re-read :D .

Everyone on the forum gives great advice. But there are a handful of guys who seem to know everything (rodbolt being one of them) and it's nice when they get involved in your project.

Way to go rodbolt!!

Re: Rodbolt Hits 10,000....posts

andy, the amount I dont know grows everyday. I do try to stay uptodate and I work very hard at my job.
my body does not like my job anymore.
College of the Albermarle, dare county campus has disscussed a teaching position as they want to start a marine technical program.
I now wish to teach what I have spent the past 35 years or so learning.
thats why I post here so much, that and its challenging.
some of the questions are difficult and others I can answer easily.
over the years I have been certified in a lot of products, did some automotive and production machineshop work as well as a few years with GOEX Inc's R&D dept as a machinist and 6 years as a navy FC as a CIWS tech with a secondary as a Harpoon tec (88-95). never got the Harpoon NEC but it was coming.
then the artheritis struck, navy retired me and in 95 I started my own shop, in 2000 I wet to contract work for other marinas and here I am.
but thats why I stress if you understand how and why each subsystem works with the mechanical reciprocating system all the motors are the same only the controls have minor differences.
so while I thank all at iboats for the support I am not any smarter than the next I just worked a bit more :)
at age 14 I was admitted to the vocational automotive program at Hogan High in vallejo CA. rules said min age was 16 but after taking the test and with the deans waiver they let me in, at 15 I worked part time at napa motors in vallejo, at 18 I was an apprentice with porsche and mazda in mobile AL, and on it went from there.
and it mostly all started over a stupid mini bike at age 8 in grandbay AL. I paid 5 dollars for it with a tossed rod, dad helped me repair it and gave me the chiltons manual and said from now on if you wish to ride you have to fix it and he never touched it again.
