I posted earlier; guess it didn't take. Trying again......
Renovating this awesome boat. The wood transom is rotted and needs replacing. Outdrive (merc) and motor (3.0 Chev) and in and out plates are pulled. Time to remove the back aluminum deck/cover and get the wood out.
I need advice on removing enough rub rail (hard rubber and aluminum channel) to lift the back aluminum deck off. I have the corners off. Before I start prying enough rubber off and out, and, (I assume) unscrew enough channel to lift the back, is there any advice out there for me?
Am I going about this rub rail removal the correct way?
What steps do I have to take to put it all back together and install?
