If those are photobucket pics....you can rotate them on the photobucket site.

From what I can see there....you've got a mountain of things to do to get that boat ready for water. Have you been able to inspect the floor and/or stringers? Everything may be rotted and/or waterlogged.

I'm not trying to dissuade you from rehabbing the boat/motor....but you need to post some more pics of it's condition so the experts here can give you an estimate of what it's going to take to make the boat/motor safe for operation. In many cases, free/cheap boats may end up costing a couple grand to fix up.

If that ends up being the case, you may end up saving a ton of money by parting out the boat/motor and starting over.

just some pictures, remote, cables, mess. I am having difficulty with what the box is. Trim solenoid assy? Doesn't look exactly the same as original diagram with evinrude.com. could have been replaced tho. the throttle cable does work, as does my hotfoot. That box is probably the most confusing part of this project right now. I'll check starter monday and probably order the evinrude owners manual and service manual then and either a new starter or bendix gear.

sorry pics are upside down.

Don't feel bad. This was mine 5 months ago.

Youve just got to break out the checkbook, sell off all the other hobbies and get your hands dirty.

That rats nest of wiring is going to be a big time consumer. If you're not already a multi-meter master now would be a good time to read up on opens, shorts and high resistance and what looks like on a multi-meter. Take my advice and get a good quality multi-meter, I have 3 (one oftem cost $100), and dont like any of them. When its time to cut wires and resplice also invest in a good pair of wire cutters (dykes), and a combo wire stripper/crimper. You can go cheap on butt splices but make sure you use heat shrink and/or liquid electrical tape to keep water out of the connecting place in the splice. So you'll need butt splices (yellow and blue), eye rings (blue for connecting to gauges and bus bars and yellow for power connections at the batery), slide on terminals (yellow and blue). You can go fancy and run all your wires through some pvc pipe, or just use that flexible wire sheathing that is split down the middle. Also remember that you're wiring job is going to come under scrutiny when it comes time to insure you're boat. Your insurance company may want pics of your boat in order to get a lower rate, and a paper survey with questions like, "do any wires on your boat have more than one splice on any single wire?" So do good job unless you want to pay more.
