I just picked up my 17 foot Dusky from Dusky in Dania, FL. This is an 8 year old hull with a 88 Special Johnson. Apparently they didn't put oil in the fuel after draining the tank of my fuel. There was a blockage on the fuel pick-up. After running about 15 minutes, 5 minutes at full throttle the engine died rather rapidly. Upon restart I noticed that my old engine that typically smokes, produced none. I drained the fuel into a small cup and it didn't look like it had oil in it. I was able to get Dusky to come get the boat with a tank with oil in it. It ran fine after that. My question is how much damage was done by running with no oil until the engine quit running.
