A trim limit switch is good to have in case you let your "non-boater", idiot brother-in-law drive your boat:eek:.......(don't do it though!)

Moral of that story is..NEVER let a non boater borrow your boat...no matter how much they beg or how much they offer to pay you.

The trim gauge, and the trim limit, is like a babies pacifier. It feels good to have it, but it doesn't really help anything.
If you NEED them, then you really have no understanding of what trim does. How it works or anything else about your boat. You are running the boat strictly by where someone told you the gauge should be.
Trim changes by weight of the boat, amount of fuel, number of people on the boat, wind and wave condition, and how the weight is distributed in your boat. it's not some set mark on a trim gauge. Feel, speed, and rpm is what counts. Not some gauge that says where drive is at.

The second most worthless gauge is the speedometer. Wildly innacurate in most boats.

Yes, I agree with that. My boat doesn't even have one. I have a big engine synchronizer gage in place of speedo. (I don't think I will ever exceed a speed limit on my boat:))
