I'm not really sure where to put this thread. I got this boat without a motor on it and acquired a 71 Johnson 100 HP. I had a bit of trouble getting the motor running on all 4 cylinders, but have since worked everything out.
The hull measures about 15'6" and it flat out flies. The trouble I am having is it runs out of speed increase after about 3/4 throttle. I am not sure about what trim level I should set the motor to. The engine will reach the 5000 RPM limit but as I stated it stops accelerating somewhere around 3500. do I need to set the engine lower in the water? It is currently set at the 3 spot from the lowest setting.
Second, I have no idea what year this thing is. Nothing shows up when searching on google or bing. The sticker says it's an Admiral serial Number 6222, with a max HP of 100. If anybody has an idea of what year it is let me know.
The Trailer is a 71 and may or may not be the one that the boat came on.
as you can see in the pics there is not much for interior, other than a very solid floor and some PVC pipe! I plan on making 2 simple bench style seats with storage.
