Any old harmonic balancer puller well work, I got mine from Harbor freight, the one thing you don't want to do is hammer on the crank shaft, that can do severe damage to it.

Hi GW McLeod - Yep, just a regular harmonic balancer puller like ohm116 said, here's mine:

I don't remember where I got it from, but I think it was an auto parts store. It came with a variety of different sized bolts but none of them fit our motors. You'll need to pick up 3 3" 1/4-20 grade 8 bolts and 6 or so flat washers. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help. Picked one up today and it popped right off.

Whats the best way to upload pics here? When i tried to insert one it said the pic was too large

I just use photobucket and paste the image code they give you into a post, it is free and easy.

What it is, is the threads in the aluminum casting for the fuel shut off valve are all buggered up because someone tried to un-bolt it before removing the stake and it leaks so I think I would need the whole body of the carb and the shut off valve, the rest of mine is okay so if I can just find the body and valve I can swap everything else over.

do youo have some pics of this sweet motor all repainted and ready for some trolling work on your boat? Im sure many would love to see!

that is one cool old motor! the smaller ones sure are cool!
