Perhaps we see different features, S&R. <br /><br />I see a standard Mauser M98, Military Type with a rounded end on the pistol grip (no cap), which should identify it as a pre-WWI manufacture. It was offered in 7X57, 8X57 and 9X57mm Mauser calibers.<br /><br />Pre-WWI manufacture can be verified if the name on it is "Waffenfabrik Mauser A.G.". After WWI the name was changed to "Mauser-Werke A.G.".<br /><br />Now I am interested in what SBN really has. <br /><br />If my identification is correct, the Gun Trader Guide of 2000 listed it's value, in excellent condition, as $525. It may have appreciated since then.<br /><br />Now, SBN, you gotta go look at it.
