What is the prefered method for sealing the transom bracket-motor mount to the transom.
There's no gasket on anything. On my evinrude the upper bolts have to come completely out to raise it a hole, the lowers can just be loostened but still breaks the seal if there ever was one.
accidently posted in the wrong section oops.

Re: Sealer on transom bracket bolts

Thanks, that is what I ended up using but it wipes off when I push the bolts through the bracket, ok so I just use it liberally and clean off the eccess, I guess that's all I can do, although I'll have to hold off using any at all until I test with the new height, then I'll have to make sure it's all dry in there before I seal it for good.
Thought maybe there was a trick, I'm tempted to open the holes bigger plug with a fiberglass dowel and redrill so no exposed wook to soak up water.

4200 is almost permanet, 5200 you will have problems getting things apart, if you do get them apart.
