If your really worried about someone(s) stealing your boat..there is no lock/chain system that cant be delt with quickly even for semi-amatures ( Hell I have some cordless tools in the shop that will cut through them like butter ).

So Mechanically isnt too good..

Remove trailer tires and block it ? erm.. have a trailer..and tires..kinda a quick install with my own to tow it away.

So Blocking kinda sucks for a for sure thing..

There is No way your going to stop someone who wants your boat.

Guns ?? again..who wants to shoot someone over a boat ( you want to come and take my kids..out of my cold dead hands of cource ) Na.. not a good idea for a boat.

So..what about looking into a GPS chip.

After all this is the Data age..

Let them scumbags take your boat..and then show up with cops at there house 2 hours later :) .

Just an alternative for some..

Time is the big thing, having to take the time with the wheels off and bring the proper tire to fit under the fenders is another. Most wouldn't bother, preferring the quick hitch and go. I have a hard time imagining a thief bringing his own lug nuts and tires and jack to get the job done in short enough time that no one notices. Too much exposure. While I agree that it's not foolproof, I bet it deters better than a hitch lock or cable.

Personally, I would not advertise being a shooter or "they" will know you have guns in the house and wait till you're gone to break in, say midday...
Mobile home anchors are cheap and removeable if you need something to lock to. Might work for you???

Your still going to use a simple lock right. so all they would have to is cut the lock at the u shaped cemented stake and be done right. What I do is lock mine couple ways at a time. Padlock at couplling lock pin hole or in ball socket, chain though tire spoke and trailer frame. I also try to store stuff in front of boat(garbage cans, gas grill, picnic table, other cars, ect.) you get the picture. If they are willing to all this your not dealing will your averge theif.
