Re: Sellers beware!

Well I am posting just to make sure it doesn't look like it was me, but then again, I could be posting to make it look like it wasn't me when it was. Ahh, crap it's not me and I am realy posting because I am curious too. Come to think of it, maybe this thread will get so big that the only one who doesn't post is the guy. Personally I think it was an Aussie. You just can't trust 'em . . . No, wait, I just posted yesterday that you could. Hmmmmm, maybe a flippin' Brit. Nah, we're fresh outta 'dose too . . . Hmmmmmm, those Tennessee guys are kinda shifty . . . Same with those North Carolinians, they're almost as bad as South Carolinians. BTW, this is social controversy at it's worst. Electronic Thieving forum members who say that they are really OK. I hate that.

....on the equal opportunity front...what about those Canadians?....deviant little bunch of northerners. ;) myself included of course.

Re: Sellers beware!

I'm not going to say who or where on the forum at this point.I think it would start way too much trouble.
I'll give it a few days to hear from Paypal.BUT i'm not waiting forever either.
You would think Paypal would not let someone file a charge back after more than 2 months had passed.Yes,Paypal does suck.
Worst case scenario is i file papers in the county the buyer lives in.I do drive through there many times a year.Thats if the other authorities won't do anything.Right now its a waiting game.
And nooo it was not QC....He is a stand up guy even tho he is from the left coast...land of fruits and nuts...LOL!! Just kidding QC!!!

Re: Sellers beware!

Part of the problem is the cops wont do anything when someones uses a"stolen credit card" cause they say they didnt see anyone do it. I chased a thief from my yard once and got his tag number as he drove away. Cops wouldnt even tell me who owned the car cause they said it was reported stolen. A lie cause I had a police contact in another city run the plate and the CAR WAS NOT REPORTED STOLEN. This proves some cops lie.You need to deal with the crook yourself if you want justice...................just dont get caught! LOL I am also a local from NC and I know how you feel

You should file them local to you... make him do the driving. Your courts will have just as much jurrisdiction as his will in this case. Make him spend several hundred bucks defending himself over a $68 theft. If he doesn't show, you win by the way... so make the suit out for several thousand... that way he'll be motivated enough to spend those hundreds to defend himself.

Re: Sellers beware!

How can you really do anything to the guy, He says one thing and you say something else and afterall . THE COPS DIDNT SEE HIM DO IT.. so they will not help you.Like the friend who had her credit card stolen and used to pay several phone bills and rent. Cops said "WE DIDNT SEE ANYONE DO IT" because it was all electronic. just like your case, sorry

Re: Sellers beware!

There must be far more to a story than told if the cops won't bust someone because "they did not see them do it".

There are many in jail, some with the death penalty that were convicted on circumstancial evidence. Wire fraud, conspiracy to commit murder, crimes beyond counting fit into the catagories that are not witnessed by the cops.

What is the rest of the story?

The rest of the story is that in most jurisdictions police have to witness misdemeanors. The "crimes beyond counting" you reference are felonies. They can be prosecuted in the absence of police witness and rely on other witnesses or evidence...

Hang in there, Gary!

Re: Sellers beware!

I'm with QC on this, thought I better chime in so y'all know it wasn't me. Been on 'cation for the last week - in Orlando with Mickey and Minnie. That is my excuse, and I am sticking to it!

Am curious as to who the member is ... PM or email me, Gary ... please.

I am sorry to hear that this has happened to you ... could be an "honest" mistake ... doubtful, but possible. And the reason that iboats could not ban a member for this is because if there are members that would do something like this to Gary, they could also easily fabricate a story about how Spinner cheated them out of something in an attempt to ban him (used his name because he is one of the most "stand-up" guys I know on this forum - not that all the other friends I have made on here are not, but ... well, I will just shut up now because I am out of feet to put in my mouth!).

Going to close this thread since no one has read or remembers post #45 in this thread.
If Gary is still having problems he can start a new thread.
