The rear because I have a 46# trolling motor I use and the seat covers the battery I put in a cigg lighter and a fold down cup holder in the front of the seat .some picks I have of it and the battery box i also built,

I looked at the one MinKota makes and built mine from it I think they are around 4o to 50 from them .I got a battery box from wally world. a cigg lighter scoket and exter power outlet from Orellys auto . and a led read out from wally world to build mine box was 7.00 lighter was 4.00 power outlet was 6.00 led read out was 12.00 wiring was stuff I had laying around so it was around 30.00 total. I would have got one from Min Kota but got borad one day and built it just to have some thing to do.Look at the pic and you can see how I built it . took about 1hr .

Good news everyone,
I've managed to score some NOS factory floorboards from Great Stuff in El Cajon, CA. They were kind enough to ship to the east coast. In the next few days, I'll post all the dimentions for the floor as we as the bench seats I've made. Hopefully it will be useful to some of you.

Really looking forward to seeing your posting of the floor and bench seats. Just purchased my boat and I can't wait to customize it.

Re: Sevylor Floorboard???

I am kind of a nerd... I cheated for my floorboard. But, I'm not here to gloat, I'm here to help!!

I have the 280 with the factory motor mount, BPS 30/30 with a 105 AH DC.

As a trade, I'm a surveyor, so I broke out the trusty old instrument, set it up with the boat inflated but turned upside down, then shot in the seam of the floor using a laser. I transfered it to AutoCAD and offset my main line by 1.5", as prescribed in this thread. After that, I plotted out my template onto vellum paper (arch c size, so it's multiple sheets).

I do have pictures which I will upload when I get on a computer I can get my pics off of. Anyway, I can send the CAD file to anyone who has AutoCAD to print out the template. If you don't have a CAD program or plotter, send me a PM on this forum, I can print these out for the 280 and send them. I will ask that you pay what I pay. I'm not looking to make a profit, just the cost of materials (large format paper, will still be cheaper than kinkos) and shipping :)

Re: Sevylor Floorboard???

Oh, I will also mention that my first floor was too big, I used 3/4 and it was heavy and bulky as heck.

A great way to line the bottom of the floor is to goto a sporting goods store, pick up one of the camp pads (for the 280, the 72" x 24" x 3/8" pads at academy for 10 work great), trim it to the board, use an adhesive spread to attach it before you attach pipe insulators around the edges. I put a layer of Gorilla duct tape around the edge to also hold down the camping pad and to give the edges some more protection.

3/4 is too thick made mine from 5/8 and could have gotten by with 1/2 .I think the factory ones are 3/8 from what I have learned

What would be all your thoughts on using 3/8" OSB with a good coat of Latex paint for the floor?

Re: Sevylor Floorboard???

I think the factoy one is 3/8 so it should work I would go with 1/2 if it were me bult mine from 5/8 I would paint it with enamle paint do like i did take one of the air up seats to Ace they can mix a QT of paint that is the same color for less 10.00. Latex is a water base paint dont know how well it would stand up getting wet all the time and make sure you sand the eages very good or put some 1/2 pipe inslation around the out side it takes 3 pc at about 2 dollars ea cheap for the protection of not cutting or getting a hole on a place that hard to fix.

Re: Sevylor Floorboard???

how much are you guys inflating the floor?
does the floorboard rest beneath the side tubes or against them?

I air mine up the same as normal and the floor rest beneath the sides thats one reason you dont want it too tight and best if you use some to cuishen the eadges some ( black pipe insalation work grate)

righton.
i may bring in the sides, as with the floor inflated fully, the floorboard rises and doesnt sit beneath side tubes.
and for the valleys in the ribs of the floor, are you filling the space between?
i saw the foam insulation on the edges and it looks fantastic, but alas, the added 1/2" to 3/4" would make the floorboard too big(as it appears it may already be).

not inflated, how much of the floor does the floorboard take up? pics?
measurements at widest point and 18" from widepoint <->?
appreciate the feedback folks! cheers!
thanks,
aaron

Re: Sevylor Floorboard???

Does anybody have a template for the super caravelle(yah I know get a fish hunter instead) but I had the caravelle way before the fish hunter came out. I noticed the the pvc was also a little heavier than the fish hunter.
