Re: shift interrupt

I guess so. The delco voyager distributor come with pre-fit connectors on the black wire so I know it's right on the distributor. The other pre-fit connector on the distributor goes to the coil. Maybe my switch is bad

That u on YouTube...Chrisa660?
If so nice video on adjusting the shift cable.
I see my problem...the roller isn't sitting in the middle of that valley and my switc.h button is being depressed. How do I get that back in the middle?

Find out why it's off centre. Disconnect the lower shift cable and see if it returns. 2 options.
1. If does return. Find out why the lower cable is holding it. (Probably stiff and needs replacing).
2. It doesn't return to centre. Remove the lever arm (the one with the valley that trips the switch), clean & grease the pivot, check the return spring (bit of wire looped around it)...

When the roller is centred in the valley, the switch needs to be set up so it closes when the gap between the roller and the arm is 1/8"...

Re: shift interrupt

My friend Chris,
This thread all started cause I went with the delco voyager ignition cause I had no spark. Assumed it was the ignition module. Could my problem been all along
been my cable not aligning the roller in the valley depressing my switch that gave me no spark? If so I have a Thunderbolt IV Mercrusier ignition module for sale real cheap.

Opps! Did you go through the Thunderbolt IV ignition system diagnostics flowchart to come to the conclusion that you needed to replace the system? Or did you just guess? (like most people do...)

Re: shift interrupt

You can sell that TB IV stuff believe me. Mercruiser gets too much $ for it.

Re: shift interrupt

I'd be very tempted to put the Thunderbolt IV back in and sell the Delco.... Just me. ;)

Re: shift interrupt

Yes I used that flow chart and it ended up being the ignition module. Don't remember seeing to check your shift interrupt though.
