Can anyone provide me with information or links on how to adjust the cables for the shift interruptor, I have a 1993 bayliner with a 3.0l Mercruiser, the problem is when i shift into gear the boat will stall out put if i give it just a little more throttle it runs fine. if i leave it in that posation for a small period of time the engine will quite. reading different threads it seems like if it was a shift interruptor problem that the engine would shut down right when i shift into forward. which is not what my boat is doing. any info would help.

Look in the Mercruiser manual.

Head up to the Adults only sticky at the top of this forum. Then read the section on how the shift interrupt system works. Once you understand the what, why, and how the system works, it makes it a lot easyier to troublshoot the system.
Then download the service manual for your outdrive. (#14 for the Alpha I Gen II) section 4A explains how to replace the cable.

When you shift to the point where you're encountering problems, is the roller of the switch on your cut-out assembly rolling to the high point or is it remaining in the "V" (valley)?
