Well...with four posts you might not be aware of shop.evinrude.com.
Go to that site, select Johnson, 2000, 150, and then your model.
Select the "Cylinder and Crankcase section, and study the drawing paying special attention to
#s 45, 38, 50, 28, and 32. Those parts are down at the bottom of the drawing.
Locate those parts on your engine and make sure they are in good working order. Look for a broken weld on #50 where the shaft welds to the arm. Just a thought....something to check.
I do believe you will need to remove the stbd lower cowl half to see it well enough.
Has anyone had the lower unit off....for a water pump job....if so, did the problem seem to start then?
