Hi all. I was recently given a Si-Tex Pro III and was wondering if anyone has a copy of the manual that could be copied or sold.

Re: Si-Tex manual

I realize that this is an old thread but I need to ask opinions on Si_Tex and their Profish II as I just bought a lightly used Profish II and cannot get information fron the Si_Tex Company telephone numbers, fax or e-mail.

I need cables and repair on the Tri ducer or options to refurbush the electronocs. Any Ideas? ny history on this unit and its operation?

I'm in Massachusetts near the coast of New Hampshire.

Thank You Dingbat,

Your reply was much more friendly than the following responce from a Mr. Art Eaton of the customer service department of SI-Tex.
Now I am selling my newfound Profish II and purchasing any other chartplotter due to this wise *** responce. I have not even powered up the unit but can imagine the service offered if it ever had problems.

I have a place in Pass-a-Grill so I may visit this business this winter just to confirm the atmosphere there! No more Si-Tex for me!

"Dear Sir:

If we were out of business why would we have a Website?

Regards,
Art Eaton

Interesting.......I left the Si-tex stuff on my last boat when I sold it but I had nothing but good experiences with customer service the couple of time I needed assistance. :(

I was hoping I could say the same with this equipment upgrade. But now I'm unsure of the ability of this Company to provide back up. Your statements, Dingbat are more reassuring than the company contact. I have never heard or used their equipment, but their logistics are good. I am not in a position to make a statement on their product, only their front line introductions and service to this point. Not a warm fuzzy, so far.

A Mr. Henderson from KODEN/SI-TEX customer service did contact me today by e-mail offering an apology and some questionable repair advice, but little else. Did you know you cannot buy connectors and rewire GPS antennas to their Profish II? I did, using their schematic in their manual and it works, fine.....They say I need to trash the Antenna and buy a 'new' one from them. Now on to their Duel Tri-Ducer and a post repair on the Temperature / Sonar wires........I love a challenge!

Re: Si-Tex manual

I had a Sitex CVS 83C2 sounder and it was a good unit. Fairly comparable to the Furuno unit I?m running now.

Splicing the transducer cables are a piece of cake. I installed a shoot thru transducer in the unit but still needed temp and speed. I put temp and speed on the transom and used a splice box to splice them into the main cable running to the unit. Worked great
