Hello,
Last week my 1976 140 Mercruiser MC-1 trim/tilt would not go up!! I replaced the up solonide and it still would not go up. I discovered the blue wire near the pump had become disconnected so I re- connected it and now it goes up no problem.
While I was messing around in the stern area, I noticed the two wires feeding through the transom into the out drive were not both connected. I believe the black wire was connected but the other one (I think it was blue) was not connected to anything.
I believe those wires are connected to the trim indicator on the instrument panel since they seem to be the only wires coming from the outdrive.
Would it be best for me to start at the trim/tilt indicator instrument and follow the wires right back to the stern so that I can figure out where the break is?
Could the trim/tilt outdtive wire been originally connected to the blue wire that is used to raise the LU??
Thanks again for any help!!
