Hello all, i have a maxum cuddy with NO issues, fewww, i know right. Anyway the fuel guage works, knock on fiberglass, but.... not so accurate while bouncing around. I know our vehicles have a compensating devise called a slosh module that keeps the fuel guage happy even when off roading. My question is do they make one i can install on my older boat that will slow the roll of that darn guage?

Never heard of that device. Some fuel tanks have baffles inside them to control fuel sloshing.

The best you will likely do is to take a reading when the boat is at rest and know how long the fuel will las

Getting an accurate reading in a boat tank is nearly impossible... In a vehicle, you generally end up at 'level' at some point. In a boat, there is no level, it depends on your speed, conditions, weight, trim, etc...

Generally think of a boat gas gauge like this. If it is full and not moving you have a full tank. If it isn't pegged at full but moving, you have gas. If it stops moving, you are empty.

Yep...that is how I do it, check the gage at the dock and know how far I can travel on what fuel I have. I am fortunate as my gage is very accurate, I have checked it a quarter tank intervals on many ocassions and it has always been within one gallon. I never leave the dock
without at least a half tank, and that will be good for 50 miles with some to spare. Also set the gps to track distance for safety.

I've never had any issue with gas gauge accuracy on either of my eighties era boats. Maybe you operate in much rougher waters? Or maybe your sender needs replacing?

I have a 90 gallon tank. When the numbers say I've used 25 - 30 gallon since last fill I'm looking to fill again. The tank gauge will say 1/2 tank when about 30 gallon have been used and show 1/4 when 50 have been used -- digital makes no difference.
