Re: Smart tab no fit- other suggestions?
rschap1,
No, I have not tried other props. That could get expensive unless I can find a loaner. I just purchased this boat used with 25 hrs on it, so I have not had much seat time in it (just about 3-4 hours). I hear so many negative views on hydrofoils so I'm a bit leary of that idea for this boat.
There is a prop shop in my town that does just that. I stop in, tell 'em what boat, motor, and desired use I am fitting for and they recommend and loan me some props. I had bought 2 used props that were in need of their repair services. I dropped those off and left with 3 props from their loaner service. For the type and style of boat you have, I really think having the proper prop would fix you up. The same prop shop that I mention does prop customizing too. To an extent, they can alter the cup of each blade, and custom tailor for what you are after. High dollar high performance rigs call it "labbing" the props. It can make a BIG difference. If I were smarter in this area I could make some recommendations, but all I know is I walk in, tell the guy behind the counter my symptoms, I get prop back and all better

Maybe there is someone here with that kind of knowledge to help you out. I have added planer wings to the outdrive of some of my earlier boats and found it is really not the best solution. Easy and cheap but not best. The volvo straight down drag plates look just like brakes as stated. Sure can't help fuel consumption.
