There is a place in the marine industry for Smart Tabs and conventional, fully adjustable, (from the helm) types. Bennett makes a great product and adds factory support that is next to none.<br /><br />I think Smart Tabs have been a true wonder product, especially for the smaller boat market.<br /><br />Boats are, for the most part, not designed as a complete unit. That is particularly true with outboard types. The boat makers, most often, have no idea what kind of propulsion is going to be added or how the weight distribution will work out. Trim tabs, of some sort, are almost an automatic addition, as to my thinking.<br /><br />Airplanes have them, and they are an absolute must.
