Re: Smart Tabs.

OH YEAH,we love our jet skiers over here too.(not)That's the main reason we all have to have an operators license over here because of the inconsiderate way they operate their crafts.BTW
Nautijohn where can I get those smart tabs in my neck of the woods.I have a 20' Tempest with a 4.3 L OMC Cobra.

Hi bubbakat. Did the 25 degree setting work for you or did you have to adjust.

I adjusted it back to about 20 % and it will lift and corner real well.

Hi Bubbakat, Bayrider, and LubeDude;

I am delighted that you are all getting the results you hoped for. I was down in Virginia, and the Little Creek Naval Base for a conference and testing. Lot's of interesting watercraft, and that was only what they allowed us to see. Anyway I was unable to check this site before now.

Catchem;

Please call Dour Wright at 705-722-3022. He is our sales representative in Canada and will be able to direct you to the best dealer. If you have any problems, let me know at 800-233-0194.

Re: Smart Tabs.

Ok, SmartTab fans and enthusiasts, question:

I have a 20ft Proline C/C, with a 1983 200hp Johnson. Weight is 1,400, I usually have 2 adults, 2 kids.

Would these help me out? I am looking for a little more hole speed, and some top end never hurts anybody, but would give up a little for hole speed.

Just looking for some recommendations, thanks guys!

Re: Smart Tabs.

I'm-a-learning;

You are expecting too little! Smart Tabs do not help with a "HOLE SHOT" because they do not allow you to get into a hole. No Hole - No Hole shot! Just acceleration! Flat and Level!

Properly adjusted, you should gain about 2 to 4 MPH.
If you expect no low speed wander (5mph. nowake zone), lower planing speed, improved ride and handling, no porpoising, and better fuel economy then that is a lot, however thats what you get. Satifaction Guaranteed! No Bull!

I'm

By they way we are now selling to the Navy and the Coast Guard for the boat 24 feet a under.

The Nav Sea group has them under extensive testing for their combatant craft - remote control.

Re: Smart Tabs.

Hi John

I have a smart tab question, just about to buy a used Zodiac MK 2 Futura hull (speed tubes) 13'9" overall length rated; for 20 to 50 hp

I think i'll put a used 25 or 30 hp on her, tiller steering and no power tilt or trim, which concerns me as i may have to mess around with motor position (tilt) settings.

Will the smart tabs allow me to choose a permanent optimum motor trim setting and leave it to the smart tabs to do the rest

thanks

Re: Smart Tabs.

Yes!

Use the ST980-30! Your motor trim will likely be in the second or third hole from the transom.

Re: Smart Tabs.

Hi John;

Thanks for that on the Zodiac.......and now another question please.

I was telling my friend about "smart tabs" he has an 1989 mint Bayliner Ciera Sunbridge 24.5

The boat has hydraulic trim tabs but he "fiddles" with them constantly, once trimmed from side to side if he moves around the boat (fer instance get a beer from the cooler :) the trim goes out of "whack" Would smart tabs help eliminate his problem? I mean remove the previously mentioned ones and goes with yours.............

regards;

Re: Smart Tabs.

Although Smart Tabs would probably compensate for this movement adequately, I would recommend that he get more comfortable with his current system. It takes practice.

Re: Smart Tabs.

Hello John-
Can you recommend a SmartTab model for me? I have a '87 Bass Tracker 1710 fiberglass pro bass style boat with a 150 OB. Or should I be looking at the Monster Tabs? I'm looking for a smooth, level ride throughout the rpm range, and will be towing skiers occasionally. Right now, I can either troll, or go full throttle, nothing in between.
Thanks!
