So I bought a new toy!

The 180 Baja Islander was a great boat! It was a perfect entry level vessel for my wife and I.... but it was time to step it up and fill my need for speed

We wanted something that had a small cuddy for spending the night on a couple times a year (or to get out of the rain), I wanted to get close to 70 mph, and my wife wanted something she could still ski behind.... and this is what we got...

Its a Baja Hammer... 21.5 foot, 454, thru hull pipes, trim tabs, etc, etc... The best part is its got 110 hours on it, so there is a lot of life left in her!

Thanks all! The lack of a windshield is the only thing I really dislike about the boat. Its not bad at low speeds, but anything over 50 mph and it gets a little windy!! I'm going to order a couple of clamp on wind deflectors next week, hopefully they will help a little.

I can't wait until 2 p.m. tomorrow when I get off work and drop this thing back in the river!

I'm fixing that tonight. I have no idea why its missing that... its already got the hole drilled in the trailer for it.

Its close to 70 mph... It will hit it after a little prop work. Its not much of a cruiser, only about enough room to crawl in and get out of the weather. I'm sure we'll spend a couple nights on it during the year. And no, there aren't too many stock boats that run in the 70's until you get up around the $100K exotics.

Nice ride, but what are you gonna catch trolling at 70? And won't it be a little hard to drag the deer across the bow? Needs more hunting and fishing space!
