If you are talking about Nagin and his alleged incompetence, that is fine.<br /><br />But you weren't talking about Nagin, you were attacking democrats generally--or at least that's what you said.<br /><br />I don't really think that democrats generally were hoping for a hurricane so that the levies would break, and tens of thousands of people could lose every thing they owned, with some even their lives, just so the fed gov't would be forced to step up, two or three years later, and offer them some benefit or two.<br /><br />That seems to be what you are charging, and it is ludicrous.<br /><br />You can argue to heck with them, and if they can't swim, too bad, so sad... that's fine<br /><br />But it has nothing to do with democrats.

I believe what was trying to be pointed out is that New Orleans during the hurricane was a snapshot of the entitlement mentality that has been cultivated over the past 50 years primarily by the Democratic party. I don't think anyone wanted a hurricane to flood the levees however it was rather sad that so many people drowned waiting for help when they could have helped themselves.

Nagin was a failure during the hurricane. I would think anyone capable of reasoned thought would be better than he. But the constituants get what they want, but I don't have any sympathy for their plight any longer. <br /><br />Any looting or murders during the new england floods?

Yep, another prime example of the mentality of the constituents of the Democratic Party! <br /><br /><br />...and yes PW, that is exactly what I was criticizing. The Democratic Party at large. It was they who jumped on the bandwagon in support of Nagin, that the whole Katrina debacle was the fault of the Bush administration.
