Thanks, jake. No doubt a person takes a bunch of shots and more end up in the garbage than are kept...... Thank goodness for digital...... I just started getting a little serious less than a year ago. All of my photos are done in Manual mode. I set up the shot. Do a lot of manual focus too.......
Good for you..it can be a lifelong hobby with bonus $ added on if interested. There are so many ways one can find enjoyment from photography: capturing the moment, profiles, landscapes, way back you could get into the devolopment and printing, burning and dodging and so forth, the list goes on and on...
The beauty is that after you can no longer climb into a boat you can view life through a viewfinder and only remember what you care to. You can do it from your wheelchair and still have a purpose if need be.
If one is computer and technology adept photoshop offers abilities we only dreamed of without very expensive equipment back in the film days. Not to mention having all the extra space in your fridge that is not taken up buy film, LOL.
